June

June involved photographing the Festival Of Hope in Hope St and The Lord Mayor's Parade, and The African Festival as well as a trip to photograph the Echo Arena when I also photographed the Superlambanna outside The Beatles Museum at the Albert Dock, designed in the uniform that The Beatles wore from The Sergeant Pepper Album.

When I photographed The Lord Mayor's Parade, I took the pictures from a window in the North Western Buildings on Lime St, now flats for University students, not only was the show excellent to photograph, it was a great opportunity to take pictures of The Neo Classical Architecture from this angle.

I really enjoyed The African Festival known as Oye, held in Sefton Park, there was one character that really caught my eye, who was very charismatic, I am sure you will realise which character I am talking about when you see the pictures. The African festival was a great event to be at, all the entertainment was top class.

The Wellington Memorial

Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke Of Wellington (1769 -1852). British General statesman and Prime Minister. The history of the statue dates to his leadership of the victorious British  land forces in the Peninsular War. In 1809 he was sent to Portugal and defeated the French at Rolica and Vimiero. He was successful at Talavera in 1809 that earned him the title Viscount Wellington, with further victories throughout the Peninsular, after these victories he was given the title Earl and then Marquis of Wellington in 1812. His defeat of the Napleonic armies culminated in the expulsion of the French from the Penninsula at  Vittoria in 1813.  In 1813 he was made a Knight Of The Garter and on his return to England in 1814, following Napoleans abdication was elevated to Duke. Wellington returned to service after Napolean's escape and his final victory against Napoleon was achieved at Waterloo in 1815
