July

In July my exhibition was looming, a lot was on my mind, I had medical results due around this time as well and was anxious about them as you can imagine. The last assignment I had before my exhibition was to photograph the interior of Liverpool's Town Hall. When I photographed The Town Hall it was a pleasure and a privilege. I met the Lord Mayor for a second time, his PA and other members of his staff, they were the nicest people you could whish to meet. I was given permission to photograph the Town Hall for two hours.  Other assignments in July included Beatles Day & The Tall Ships. Another Superlamb was depicted and St John's Beacon. I also had the pleasure of being a guest on BBC Radio Merseyside's "The Late Show" and was interviewed by Linda McDermott. It was great to meet the panel, it was an enjoyable experience.

Tall Ships Parade Of Sale 21/7/08

The Tall Ships Parade Of Sale Images were taken from Seacombe Ferry Terminal. This was my favourite event, Liverpool has a strong association with the sea and to capture the tall ships with the three graces behind them was Iconic, and meant a lot to me. The message said "Liverpool European Capital Of Culture 2008, be apart of it all and this is our time and our place". A local inventor (pictured 3rd image down) certainly made sure he was apart of it all, and felt it was his time and his place by inventing a yellow car that travelled on water and decided to take it for a test drive on the River Mersey during the Tall Ships Parade Of Sale.

Town Hall Interior 24/7/08

A variety of photographs were taken in the Town Hall, including Superlambanana dressed in Lord Mayor's Traditional Clothing and Chain Of Office, photographed on Ground Floor.

The present Town Hall is the third to have been built on or near the site. The first was built in 1515, while the second was built in 1673.The Town Hall as we know it today was built in 1754 based on a design by John Wood of Bath. It was gutted by fire in 1794, but was built and restored over the following years. Further restoration work took place between 1993 and 1995.
