Liverpool's Royal Albert Dock - My Continied Inspirations, Individual Attractions, Viewing Landmarks Near & Far

Above A Close Shot Of The Pumphouse taken in 2009.

The cobble stones in the foreground are used to take “lead” the eye into the building.

People are used to add scale to the bigger surroundings and show local life in the area.

Customers relax drinking outside on wooden seats, by tables to the right of the picture.

Above A distant shot of the pumphouse, seen here as a central focal point, The Merseyside Maritime Museum is to the right.

The tall ship Pelican Of London is berthed in the Canning Half Tide Dock, just opposite The Merseyside Maritime Museum.

@hiltonliverpool is seen in the distance just behind The Pumphouse and One Park West Building is to the left.

Pigeon poses for camera (near right)!

Above The Merseyside Maritime Museum is of course yet another reason to visit Royal Albert Dock Liverpool teaching us about fascinating Maritime journeys and Histories,

a visit will “take you back in time”.

In the picture above The wall of The Maritime Museum is composed on the right, The Pumphouse is on the far left.

Extra depth was added to the photograph by including the side wall of the Museum “jutting back” to the right side of the image.

At the processing stage I made sure the Museum sign and wall stood out by lessening the effect of a shadow on the wall,

I applied a techniques such as “Dodging” ie dodging the shadows.

Tweaks were made to levels to make shadows lighter, saturation and vibrancy “sliders” were changed to ensure parts of the images changed were not too light at the final result.

Above A composition known as a “point of view shot”, giving the viewer a perspective of how dominating the exterior architecture

can be when looking up in admiration at the Museum.

The warm evening side lighting has highlighted the individual brick work on The Museum both the main and side wall (right) were included to extend depth and perspective, in the photograph.

I included the raking shadows to draw the eye into the frame, by recording the cobble stones in the foreground reveals more character in The Royal Albert Dock.

The Pumphouse has been included to add scale to the picture.

The Anchor in the Anchor Courtyard can just be seen on the right side in the near background in shadow.

Above The expansiveness and grandeur of The Albert  Dock photographed from the left side, the Anglican Cathedral is seen between the space in the complex’s wall towards the center of the image, more right.

Above And Below Another popular attraction in The Rolyal Albert Dock is the Anchor,  just outside the entrance to the Merseyside Maritime Museum, in Hartley Quay , see also here on Google Maps.

The anchor is from the vessel HMS Conway.

Images are taken at different angles, the photograph just below shows people entering the Maritime Museum.
