Taken left side of Pier Head, St Nicks Church depicted in backdrop.                                                                   Part of the War Memorial in the foreground is the Memorial to the Engine Room Heroes. 

The  memorial can be found at St Nicholas Palace, Pier Head. It was unveiled 1916 and was sculptured by William  Goscombe John. Memorial to the Heroes of the Marine Engine room, that has been on occasions  referred to as the Titanic Memorial. The monument was funded by public subscription and was intended to commemorate the bravery of the engineers of the RMS Titanic (1912). However, on completion it was dedicated to The Heroes of the Marine Engine room (1916) there was no official unveiling  because it was war time.  There was an informal unveiling in May 1916.
